Spreading the Gifts

This news item came to us from Gay McRoberts:

Some people in southern Wisconsin have already begun celebrating Christmas, thanks to gifts delivered December 15th from the Seventh Day Baptist Church of Albion. A dozen people ranging from 3 to 63 years old gathered on Sunday to bake dozens of cookies, package ‘Snowman Soup’ and create cinnamon-scented ornaments, while Christmas music played in the background. We shared a good time while working together in a cooperative effort.

The results were delivered to even more places than we thought originally: apartments for seniors, at assisted living sites or to nursing homes. Packages were directed to the staff in appreciation for the care given to shut-in members of our congregation or family members. Beneficiaries chosen were Skaalen Home in Stoughton, Edgerton Care Center, Edgerton’s Elm Drive Apartments, Milton Senior Living, St. Mary’s Apartments in Milton, and Rock Haven in Janesville.

The Seventh Day Baptist Church of Albion continues to recognize the holiday season with its Sabbath (Saturday) services. Special speakers are slated to preach at the 11:00 a.m. worship time, with a Sabbath School at 10:00 for those who would like to join the discussion on “Experiencing God”, a study of having a personal relationship with Him. A Communion service begins the year on January 4th.

The Albion Seventh Day Baptist church is located at 616 Albion Rd., rural Edgerton, Wisconsin. For more information, check the website, http://albionchurch.weebly.com, email albionsdb@gmail.com or phone 608-561-7450. We wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
