The General Council continues to implement the Transition Plan in place since November 2013 as a result of the resignations of the Director of Communications/Editor of the Sabbath Recorder and the Executive Director of the Board of Christian Education. Over the last few months, the following have been completed as part of this Transition Plan:
- An Interim Editor of the Sabbath Recorder is in place (hired in May, first issue in September)
- BCE is finalizing dissolution plans following the formal vote during their annual meeting at Conference 2014
- A new Christian Education Council formed at Conference 2014 has begun working
- The Historical Society has voted to pursue merger
Over the next 90 days, the General Council will be announcing some additional updates to the Transition Plan resulting from feedback received during the 2014 Conference sessions and the recent resignation of the Director of Pastoral Services/Dean of the Center on Ministry. Please continue to be in prayer for God’s more preferable future for Seventh Day Baptists.
