Pastor Edward Sutton, 79, of New Enterprise, passed away on March 9, 2017 at UPMC Altoona. Born on November 23, 1937 in Berea, WV, the son of Guy and Bertha (Davis) Sutton. On May 13, 2001 at Potter Creek Lutheran Church he married Patricia Bennett who survives. Ed received his Master’s in Divinity; was a Minister for 50 years, currently serving as Pastor of the Bell 7th Day Baptist Church in Salemville. He was Chaplain and Board of Director for the Southern Cove Fire Company; on the board and a member of Camp Joy in Berea, WV; member of the Southern Cove Ministerium; and was a member and past president of the Corvair Club. Survivors include, wife Pat; daughter Terri Field (Joseph) of Keyser, WV; stepchildren Brian Walter (Tina) of New Enterprise and Barry Walter (Kristie) of New Enterprise; grandchildren Mitch Sweeney, Samantha Hess, Brandon Walter, Whitley Gladwell, Hunter Walter, Kendra Free, and Olivia Walter; great-grandchildren Kendra Hess, Bryson Free, and Jordan Free; brother Eugene Sutton (Ruth) of Unionville, VA; daughter-in Law Kim Sutton-Richards (TJ); nephews and niece, Adrian, Paul, Darrell, and Linda. He was preceded in death by son Jeffrey Sutton; sisters Mary Carneal and Kathy Sutton; and brother in-law Raymond Carneal. Friends will be received on Sunday, March 12, 2017 from 4:00PM-7:00PM and Monday, March 13, 2017 from 10:00AM-11:00AM at the New Enterprise Church of the Brethren. At 11:00AM Monday a service will take place with Pastor Andrew Camenga officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to either the Southern Cove Fire Company or Bell 7th Day Baptist Church. Arrangements by Weaver Funeral Home, LLC; Woodbury.
