Seventh Day Baptists are kicking off a busy season at the SDB Center in Janesville, WI. This past week we hosted a first ever visit by the National Association of Evangelicals (NAE) to SDB Conference headquarters. Randall Bach, NAE Ambassador to Denominations, and his wife Barbara visited with SDB Executive Director Carl Greene and his wife Cindy along with SDB Director of History and Education, Nick Kersten.
The visit provided an opportunity to share our Seventh Day Baptist story and to continue building our relationship with the NAE. Director Nick Kersten was able to provide a broad narrative about SDBs that will be shared with other member Conferences and denominations within the NAE. We also discussed some key opportunities that SDBs and the NAE have already been able to partner in, including our first experience at Flourish. Carl serves on the NAE Board of Directors and is active in a number of NAE-led initiatives. We are looking forward to more opportunities for the NAE and SDBs to partner together.
Following the visit, Randall shared: “Barbara and I were privileged to visit the Seventh Day Baptist Center and spend time with Carl and Cindy Greene. We recognize commitment when we see it and both this historic conference and the Greenes exemplify loving commitment and faithfulness to God’s call. The National Association of Evangelicals is pleased that we are in partnership for the Lord.” Thank you to Randall and Barbara for such an encouraging visit!
The SDB Center will continue to be a hub of activity in the coming weeks as we prepare for the: Vital Preaching Retreat, SDB General Council Meeting, Emerging Leaders Weekend, and the SDB Memorial Board meeting. Please join us in prayer throughout the fall season.
