The Winter 2026 issue of the Helping Hand is available.  This quarter’s publication, entitled, “Enduring Beliefs of the Christian Faith” covers the months of December, January, and February  Digital versions of the English language version are once again available as a PDF here or for Amazon Kindle here.

Editor Steve Osborn introduces this quarter’s publication in this way:

Seventh Day Baptists are known as “people of the Book,” meaning that we insist on being able to support what we believe from Scripture and that we value biblical evidence above human tradition. Our study for the winter quarter highlights the essential teachings of the Bible in relation to defining elements of our Christian faith.

Unit I: Our Holy God and the Holy Scriptures, invites learners to look to our Trinitarian God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—whom we know through the Holy Scriptures for strength and comfort. Scripture reveals God to be invested in relationships, both within the Godhead and with all of creation. Biblical images convey this relationship in various ways—God as Father and Son, as a shepherd, as an abiding presence, and as an advocate or comforter. We know God by virtue of the Bible, the Holy Scriptures, which teaches us that God is made known through the glory of creation and the majesty of the inspired Word.

Unit II: Grace and Reconciliation, reminds us, first, that human beings are dead in sin, separated from God. We jeopardize the relationships God has created us for by insisting on our own way, a form of idolatry. In Christ, we are reconciled to God and one another and called into the covenant community, the church. The church calls us to practice the means of grace—spiritual disciplines such as confession, prayer, learning, and caring for and supporting one another in the community.

Unit III: The Church and Its Teachings, recalls the image of the church as the body of Christ, spiritually gifted for ministry and mission. Through the sacraments of baptism and the Lord’s Supper, the church is nourished and empowered to live as Christ’s body in the world, calling all people to repent for the forgiveness of sins and proclaiming the coming reign of God.

From the Editor: “Unfortunately, the biographical statement for one of our writers, Conlief Lyons, was left out of the Authors’ Page. I’m including it here with my apologies.

Conlief Lyons is a Canadian of Jamaican heritage living in Toronto, Ontario, whose life has been shaped by personal loss, spiritual searching, and a transformative encounter with Christ. His journey has included active leadership in church ministries, a passion for evangelism, and a commitment to serving as a bi-vocational pastor within the Seventh Day Baptist tradition. Conlief is dedicated to building strong, relevant SDB ministries that address the needs of today’s society and nurture future generations in faith.”
May God bless your faithful study of His Word this quarter!
