Although it’s still snowy & cold in most places, believe it or not summer is just around the corner!

Would your church like to have summer activities but need more arms and legs? Are you wanting more church visibility to your community? Do your weekly church activities just need a little “shot in the arm”? Then an SCSC (Summer Christian Service Corps) project may be just what your church needs this summer. After attending a training session, a team (usually 2) of college age young adults flies to a “project” where they will be in your local church for 4 weeks. The SCSC team arrives ready and eager to help with Bible Studies, camps & retreats, Youth & Children’s Activities, volunteer at food pantries or nursing homes on behalf of the church, visit neighborhoods, support worship services and more.  The project will be customized to the needs of the church and abilities of the SCSC team.

Your church will need to provide housing and food for the SCSC team during the project as well as a Project Director who will be the primary point of contact in working with the SCSC team. Financial assistance may be available.

If you think you may be interested, Susie Fox, a member of the SCSC Committee of the SDB Women’s Society is available to discuss opportunities, requirements and explore options to customize a project for your church.

More information as well as application forms can be found under the SCSC tab of the SDB Women’s Society page (https://www.sdbwomen.org/?page_id=90). For questions or assistance you can contact Susie Fox on the SCSC Committee at sjphox@gmail.com.
