More Than Just Words

Since our first Seventh Day Baptist church was founded in Newport, Rhode Island (1671), we’ve been passing faith forward on purpose. These days, some of that “passing” looks a lot like planting digital seeds so leaders can grow strong roots in Christ and steady rhythms in the Sabbath…and so the next generation can find the path with joy.

From the communications side of things, I like to think of the work as part gardener, part lighthouse crew. Yeah, I know that might sound like an odd combo. But, sometimes the work is sowing and sometimes it’s a polishing the lighthouse lens so the light carries farther. Either way, it’s for you our dear reader, and for the leaders coming up behind you, as God keeps building His people.

A Quiet Kind of Mentorship (No Calendar Invite Required)

Scripture teaches with stories. Parables. Letters. Testimonies. So when your story is told clearly, someone else can borrow courage from it later. Perhaps a young leader can stumble onto it years from now, feel less alone, and take a leap of faith. Perhaps you can inspire someone who is feeling alone. Your story is one that God can use in some of the most unexpected ways. So wherever you are and whatever season God has called you into, know that you too may be called to be a gardener or lighthouse-lens-polisher. I hope that you will rise to the challenge!

Want to plug in?

We’ll keep sowing and shining, trusting God to turn today’s little seeds into tomorrow’s steady leaders!
