The SDB General Council and Coordinating Leadership are gathering at the SDB Center in Janesville, WI from June 5th to June 7th. We will pray through and refine how we join God in the work of equipping our churches to actively advance God’s Kingdom. We will also enjoy rest together as we celebrate Sabbath in community.
The General Council is the 5-member body elected by the SDB General Conference to address Conference matters between delegate sessions of Conference Week–providing creative leadership, collaborative strategy, and supportive encouragement to the mission and ministry of the Seventh Day Baptist General Conference. Current Council members include: Steve Osborn, Chair (CO), Maura Mazza, Vice-Chair (NJ), Erin Inabnit (WA), Helmer Umana (MD), and Russel Johnson (NY).
The Coordinating Leadership Team is the collaborative group representing the SDB General Conference, the SDB Missionary Society, and the SDB Memorial Fund. The participants at this year’s retreat include: Bill Probasco (President, SDB Memorial Board); Andy Samuels (Chief Executive Director, SDB Missionary Society); Miriam Berg (Director of Operations, SDB Missionary Society); Jeremiah Owen (Director of Communication, SDB General Conference); Nate Crandall (Coaching Coordinator, SDB General Conference); Lydia Solomon (HR Business Partner; Women’s Board President, SDB General Conference); Nick Kersten (Director of Education and History, SDB General Conference); Ron Ochs (Director of Finance, SDB General Conference); and Carl Greene (Executive Director, SDB General Conference).
Rev. Dr. John Stumbo, past President of the Christian and Missionary Alliance denomination, will also be joining us for our retreat. Dr. Stumbo will be guiding our retreat time together.
