Lest We Forget

Our SDB General Conference is here again. I cannot believe that one year has come and gone. I have had the privilege of meeting so many of God’s people throughout this blessed country. People who love to worship and who care deeply about following God’s word. As we move forward, we will be engaged with another theme from our incoming president which will encourage us as we look to the future of our churches and denomination.

The theme, “Follow Me, I Will Make You Fishers of Men” has moved me to look at my own relationship with Christ differently and I hope it has done the same for each of you. It has also made me look intently on what our past conference presidents visualized for our conference, not just for a year, but something that would resonate in each of us as we live out our lives in Christ.

So, shouldn’t it be obvious that we serve a limitless God who is still calling us to be servants in His ministry. We are still unearthing the church on several levels, personal, congregational, and denominational. We are still being called to be steadfast, as we move forward in His footsteps, and endeavor to become a people of less talk and more action, then we can declare to the world, how great is our God. Are you Ready?

I am ready to see what the future holds for us as a denomination. There’s enthusiasm amongst our young adults with the Emerging Leaders, our lay leaders and leaders are being trained and educated at SDBU, and more church plants and groups are being formed and partnered with all over the country. It is a glorious time, and we need to support our conference in every way possible for this work to continue.

May God continue to bless us as we continue to follow him and become the fishers of men he has called us to be.
