SDB University
Lay Leadership Certificate
Grow in faith and prepare for faithful service in your local church.
Equipping local church leaders
The Lay Leadership Certificate is SDBU’s 100-level pathway for leaders serving in the local church, including greeters, treasurers, deacons, and others who help the congregation carry out its ministry.
The program is administered by a local church pastor in the context of the local church. Its seven modules connect Seventh Day Baptist identity, biblical understanding, and practical ministry.
Getting started
Certificate participation requires sponsorship by a local SDB church. Begin by talking with your pastor about your role, the church’s training needs, and how to take part.
Contact the SDBU Dean to discuss your preparation and the current program requirements.
